Your Stylist Training Guide
Certificate of Editorial Styling

Training is held at .

One of our team will be there to greet you and show you to the training room.
While the majority of the training is carried out at this location, some sessions will be held in the city and local surrounds - more information will be provided during your training.

For those of you coming from interstate we suggest that you leave ample time between your flight and the end of training if you are flying home on the Wednesday evening, as the venue is located an hour from the airport and we like to wrap up with a celebratory champagne.

Come into your three days with an open mind and a strong work ethic. We pack a lot into the training, that will see you producing work for two different briefs. Collaboration is key, as you'll be working in groups. Make sure you're respectful of different opinions and aesthetics.

*** Make sure you've completed the pre-learning requirement prior to attending the training. This forms part of your course requirement.

Access the Learning Centre here to complete.

Training commences on  at 10am SHARP. Registration (and herbal tea!) from 9:30am. Please arrive no later than 9:45am for your first day of training!

Day 2: Start time is 9:30am
Day 3: Start time is 9:00am

Classes finish at 5pm daily but can run up to 30 minutes overtime.

On day one you'll research the who's who of the editorial world, including photographers, stylists, HMUAs and publications, before preparing for your first photo shoot on day two. Over the next two days you'll be working with the talented photographers who will guide you in getting the perfect shot.

Be stylish, be creative, but most importantly be yourself. You will be on set for two out of the three days, so dress comfortably, but still on-brand.

You will need to bring:

  • Two to three magazines that are either Vogue, Harpers Bazaar, iD, Love, Oyster        or Russh for inspiration for your shoots and mood boards.
  • Laptop or i-pad if you prefer to work digitally
  • Additional snacks should you choose

The venue is surrounded by cafes and restaurants or feel free to bring your lunch.

Our community’s health and wellbeing remain our top priority. In accordance with government regulation, we will have increased safety measures in place to ensure your support and comfort throughout in-person training.

A venue capacity applies with social distancing rules of 1.5m through spaced seating and activities. Hand sanitisers, face masks and gloves will also be made available as well as instructions on using communal amenities and looking out for each other.

If you are showing any of the following symptoms, please don’t attend training and follow government instructions: fever, cough, fatigue, sore throat or shortness of breath. Don’t worry, we will ensure you still get all the necessary information so you don’t miss a thing.
